On the top are garlic dill pickles make from pickling cucumbers from The Rents Due Ranch in Stanwood. The bottom is Bread and Butter Pickles made from zuchinnis, peppers, and onions. The middle is a beet and pear salad. The beets and pears came from Klesickfamilyfarm.com.
Jim, You could make me like beets. These were absolutely delicious. As were the bread and butter pickles. I'm not huge on pickles, but these are as addictive as the pesto.
The first of a planned monthly Pot Luck for people interested in eating locally grown and produced food was a smashing success. What an amazing group of people and the food was incredible. The gatherings will be at 7PM on the second Tuesday of every month at the Scandia Coffee House and Eatery in Stanwood, WA. Thank you to Natasha Clarke and Donna King for putting this together.
